Hello, World
Hi, I’m Gilang Gunawan.
I’ve been meaning to start a blog on this personal website for a while now, but I always kept putting it off. And today, I finally decided to just start.
Here, I want to share what I’m thinking about, how I build things, my experiences working on projects, and the setup I use day to day. I want to write freely, whatever I’m thinking and experiencing. So don’t be surprised if some posts are messy, don’t reach a neat conclusion, or jump around from technical stuff to something completely random.
Why start a blog on my personal site?
The main reason is simple: I want to start writing. Getting whatever is in my head out onto the page, and if I’m lucky, sharing something that might actually be useful to someone else. Beyond that, I also want this personal website to be where people can find my resume and portfolio. It should be one place that covers everything about me: what I work on, what I think about, and what I experience.
What I expect from this space
A few things I’m holding onto for this blog:
First, this blog isn’t for anyone else, it’s for myself. If someone reads it and relates, that’s a bonus.
I also want to try sharing things that might be useful to other people, whether that’s technical insight or just stories about the process.
More than that, this is also how I want to build a writing habit. It doesn’t have to be polished from the start, as long as I keep showing up.
And finally, I want this personal website to slowly become a kind of history, a record of my career and life that I (or anyone else) can look back on someday.
